questions about RA job
How much time did it usually take (I mean really in hours
 ) ? And how much time do you usually meet you professor ? I know that this question sounds stupid but I plan to do RA for a prof. from another university far from mine and i need to decide if it is possible during my first year. (i will need to drive 2 hours to get there) |

It depends on the prof and the projects. I am currently "half-timing" with two profs. I meet them when I have something good to talk about, or when they want to meet, and I work roughly 20 hrs a week for each professor. But then again, I don't need to drive anywhere to see them. So talking to the professor is really the only way to figure out if it's possible. Also, I am not RAing during the academic year.
