flexibility of Ph.D in Poli Sci

Hi all,

I did a BA in Poli sci, doing masters in GIS. Not too happy here. Thinking about doing a ph.d (and getting a masters along the way) in Econ, Urban planning or Poli sci as I have interest in all three areas.

will a Ph.D in Poli Sci be limited mainly to being a professor? I am interested in political economics and such. What else can I do with a ph.d in poli sci?

For the most part, a PhD in Political Science is only good for academia. There are not as many non-academic jobs available to political scientists as to economists, engineers, or natural scientists.
