PHd in Poli Sci from Cornell- is it possible for me?

My dream is to work with Peter Katzenstein at Cornell. Here are my stats:
1. 750 verbal, 670 quant. Don't know writing yet but probably pretty solid.
2. UG GPA: 3.8, honors, honors thesis
3. Good extra curriculars, internships
4. Good LORs
5. Bad: not much substantive job experience transfer from a junior college, top 100 school (as ranked by Forbes)

So, dreams come true or not?

I could see it happening. It's certainly helpful that you wrote an honors thesis and your GPA and GRE scores should be good enough to make you competitive. You will be more competitive if you contact this professor and tell him how interested you are in his research. If you're lucky, you'll be able to speak with him on the phone and if you get his endorsement, that will be helpful in boosting your chances.
