Profiles and Results 2008 Following Median's lead from last year, I thought I'd start one of these for the 2008 admissions season:

Profile
GRE: V720, Q780, A5.5
Undergrad/Grad: Private University in the second tier, but with a great placement record into PhD programs
GPA: 3.88 (Econ/Poli Sci double major-math minor)
Classes: Standard classes for my majors/minor. 4 Graduate level methods classes, one graduate level theory class
Research Experience: 3 years RA experience
Teaching Experience: 3 semesters TA experience
LORs: Three fairly well known professors, but with good reputations for sending good students
Interests: IPE and methods. I also applied to some Econ PhD programs this year.

Results:
Stanford-Accepted
Michigan-
UCSD IR/PS-
Stanford GSB
Harvard-
Harvard PEG-
Rochester-Accepted

Undergrad: BA Mathematics-Economics, Liberal Arts College with great placement record into PhD Political Science (Think William Riker

Grad: MA Economics. One of the top MA programs in the English-speaking world.
Classes: Lots of Math. Economics PhD first-year sequence. Intro Political Science sequence. Tutorials in Political Science (mostly PhD-level American Politics). Took enough Political Science courses to get a minor, just not the "right" (i.e. required) ones.
Research Experience: 1 year RA experience.
Teaching Experience: 1 year TA experience
LORs: 1 Political Science, 1 Mathematics, 1 Economics.
Interests: International Relations (primary), Game Theory (primary), Statistics (secondary).

Results:
NYU - accepted (will join the program)
Rochester - accepted
Pardee RAND - application incomplete
