PhD in Public Policy/IR admission
Hello,
I know this is a PolSci thread, but was hoping someone here could shed some light on this. I am interested in a PhD in public policy/IR and your advice will be very helpful Currently, I am an MBA student at Cornell University. Over the 6 months, my interests have changed and I think my interest and skills will be best used in with a PhD in public policy. I have an undergraduate degree in engineering from India and subsequently worked in the telecom industry from 5.5 years. I scored 760/800 on the GMAT (written for my MBA) and am planning to take the GRE soon. I would like to know what are my chances of admission into a good public policy program. Given my background. Academics - Econ: Microecon, Macro ,Economic sociology at Cornell Math: 2 years in undergrad engineering math , staistics at undergrad and MBA level My microecon and MBA statistics grades were not great (B+) - GMAT quant was in the 99th percentile though. MBA grades were affected by my focus the job search.I am taking Macro and Economic sociology right now. Please let me know my chances and what I can do to improve my candidacy. Your opinion will be very useful. Thanks. Last edited by testmagnet : 09-06-2008 at 06:26 PM. Reason: More informative name |
