Personally, I didn't take any SAT Test Prep at Test Magic for the SAT I. (I would have, but I called about it during one of their breaks and ended up taking a course at Princeton Review. BAD IDEA! ) But anyway, I took the March 2005 SAT, and I scored a 2120 (1410 Math + Verbal). 720 M, 690 R, 710 W. I'm going to take it again sometime next fall because I'm disappointed with my Math score... and my essay subscore (9). But of course, I was born in San Francisco and English is my first language.

My advice for anyone who is thinking of taking a test prep: DO NOT TAKE SOMETHING LIKE KAPLAN OR PRINCETON REVIEW!!! They don't concentrate on what you need to know. I wasted my money on Princeton Review when all they went over were things I didn't need to know. But to each his own, I guess.

and now, off to study for the AP US History Test... btw, I had private tutoring in US History, and I feel prepared to a certain extent, but not super prepared... but then again, I didn't do much reading during the school year, so it's understandable.

Hard work and I don't go hand in hand. In fact, I've learned that when I work hard, I get C's, and when I slack off, I get A's and B's. Maybe it's because I tend to over-think and overanalyze. No matter. I'm going to retake it until I either run out of time or get a 2200... whichever comes first... haha... because I need to score super high on the SAT II's to get into some of the schools I'm applying to.

Wow, I think you did crazy good on the SAT. So far at my school I've gotten the highest score out of everybody, and it's only a 1970 (710 Math, 630 Verbal, 630 Writing). I took a 3 day course put on by a community college in Sacramento, but it honestly didn't tell me anything I didn't know already or could get by reading the College Board's book. I wouldn't spend any money on a prep course.

Well, compared to the people in my school who score in the high, high, high percentiles, I'm an spanghewing meshuggener. I have to compete with my extremely low GPA and my 2120 with the 4.0 unweighted and 2280-2340 of the people at my school. Yes, of course, I scored higher than various people at my school, but I still think a 2120 is pretty low.

UC Berkeley or UCLA or UC Davis... (there are other schools, but my SAT score and GPA would probably get me in the others...) yeah, my score kicks the schools' SAT averages out of the water, but my GPA sucks... (it's a 3.39, but I like to make myself seem a little smarter and say 3.4...) so I need a super high SAT score to make up for it... and I was hoping for a higher score... because of all the schools I'm applying to, I have ONE, count them, ONE safety.

Hey, that's cool. I am also considering UCLA and UC Davis, as well as Cal Poly (SLO). My GPA (weighted) is 4.479 so I'm hoping that's good enough to get me in (and hopefully get me plenty of financial aid).
