How is going over old tests (even right answers) a way of studying?

right now, i only go over the wrong answers after each practice test/section. Is it worth it to look back at old tests??? anyone does this?

OMG!! This is the main reason you are practicing... I do this for every questions I get wrong. There is no point in not doing. Otherwise you cant LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES (duh)

Usually not, I only do it to concepts which haven't fully sunk into my brain. It is unecessary to study the things you've memorized to heart. Also, if the question entails multiple mathematical or critical reading concepts it could take multiple days of review - not that you couldn't do in one day, but its better not rush than take your time.

If you have the time.

I remember reviewing all of my answers - right and wrong. During each practice test, I often came across questions where I could eliminate some answer choices and take an educated guess. If my guess was correct, I would get the question right, but I still wouldn't be sure of the concepts. Only when I went back to review my entire test was I able to say, "Oh so I was right. That's how it works."

Definitely review the questions you get wrong, but I strongly skimming over your right answers, too. Even if you would have guessed the same way and gotten similar questions right on your real SAT, it's a great way to build test confidence.

I think that is the whole point of studying by yourself. If you did not do that at all, then you would not learn anything and improve your score, even if you did not know how to correct them, you would have to look at some answers that they gave you.
