English AP/IB or College preparation class?

Between English 4 AP/IB (senior) and College preparation classes, which one will be more beneficial to a student who wants to go to a medical school in the future?

Is it true that College prep emphasizes on writing and vocab while Eng IB/AP emphasizes on in depth literature reading?

My son is going to drop Eng IB/AP and take College prep instead. Is it a right decision?

Thanks.

Hello!

I'm not too sure about the difference between Eng IB/AP and College Prep, as my high school didn't offer College Prep, but I did take both AP English Language and AP English Literature. I can tell you that AP English Language focuses more on your writing ability, whereas AP English Literature is indeed more concerned about analyses of literary works.

I would recommend AP English Language for your son, but again, I don't know how it compares to College preparation classes. Sorry!
