NYC LSAT Study Group - Free LSAT Logic Games Workshop

This is an LSAT study group organized by a private LSAT tutor who has a degree from Columbia. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, December 10th, from 6:30-7:30PM in Manhattan.

The workshop will consist of a short lesson that is specifically focused on linear logic games. We will start with simple logic games and briefly touch on some intermediate and advanced linear logic games as well. Over the course of the hour, we will cover 4-6 logic games, depending upon the needs of the group.

All questions discussed in the session will be real questions from "The Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests" published by LSAC (available from Amazon, Borders, or Barnes and Noble). These questions are similar to what you will see on the LSAT. Workshop members will be assigned several logic games and encouraged to discuss and to collaborate in order to solve them together. We will then discuss the games in order to derive the most efficient solutions.

The evidence is that if violations *routinely* go unpunished, we'll
    have negative consequences.

The conclusion is that we should *never* allow them to go unpunished.

These are not the same. There is a gap between them, and this is what
    D addresses.

The stimulus neglects the possibility that perhaps we can
*occasionally* allow violations without chaos resulting.

Differences in degree of extremity (always vs. sometimes vs. never)
are often where the flaws lie.

    Hope this helps.

    -Steve

Quick note: in the future, please refer only to PrepTests by PT#/Sec#/Q#, rather than by posting the entire question. I know you were trying to be helpful, but we don't want the forum moderator to get in trouble.

The Case of the Secret LSAT PrepTests

    Hello everyone,

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Steve Schwartz, and I run LSAT Blog, which is updated weekly with free LSAT tips and tricks.

I just published a series of posts about the Law School Admission Council.

In this series, I report on the fact that certain LSAT PrepTests are only available to students who take prep courses. These exams are not available to students who choose to self-study.

The series includes excerpts of email and phone conversations with LSAC representatives, as well as emails from prep companies, verifying this.

There are five posts in the series:

    1. The Case of the Secret LSAT PrepTests

    2. Official LSAT PrepTest February 1997

    3. Cost of LSAT PrepTests | Prep Course vs. Self-Study

    4. LSAC's PrepTest Licensing Policy

    5. Suggestions for LSAC on Restructuring LSAT PrepTest Sales

Since this is likely to interest anyone prepping for the LSAT. I figured it's worth mentioning here.

Please pass the word along about this, and I look forward to your feedback and discussion.

    Take care,
    Steve

P.S. I hope everyone's LSAT preparation and finals are going well!
