First of all, I would like to thank 21cn for answering this question. I created this Discussion Board so that people could help each other. I think that soon this board will be too busy for me to answer every single question, so I hope that you guys can help each other. I would be very, very happy if more people posted answers to others' questions. In fact, in the future, TestMagic will be holding a contest for people who make the most helpful posts, for example, the first such contest will offer 4 free essay scores over the course of one month for the person who makes the most helpful posts.

So, my point is, thanks 21cn!

Now, on to the question.

21cn is absolutely right. In all cases, we have a contrast between both parts of the sentence and we therefore need to use although. Furthermore, since a complete sentence follows each blank, a subordinating conjunction, not a preposition is necessary.

I've got a lot of info on prepositions at:

http://www.TestMagic.com/grammar/exp...epositions.htm

Hope that helps!

Please post further questions here.

Hi Erin,
I come across this post. Your post was very long ago, but I think your idea about the contest and its award is very interesting and attractive. I am wondering why you did not carry on such a good idea? I am certain that I would be very willing to enter such a contest.
