Well,I have two (may be silly for someone)questions. Here they are:
    1.Snare drums produce a sharp,rattling sound ___.
    a)as striking
    b)when are struck
    c)struck

    Ans: d
    Why not b???

2.Honey is the only form of naturally occuring sugar that ___ to be refined before it can be eaten.
    a)has not
    b)does not have
    c)not having

B cannot be the answer. It lacks a subject. Remmember a clause always contains a subject and at least one verb. Of course there are some exceptions. These exceptions are reduced clauses. You should study this type of clause because it is often tested on the TOEFL exam.
D is the answer and look at it, you see there is no sublect in this clause, right? yes, because it is a reduced clause.
The full sentence would be "Snare drums produce a sharp, rattling sound
    when they are stuck."

"Has not to " is British English, and "does not have to" is American English
In my humble opinion, this is not a TOEFL question because ETS does not test us the differences between British English and American English.

Yes, you should buy a PowerPrep Cd. As far as I know, two tests inside this CD are very similar to actual Toefl tests.
