hello,

I wanted to ask something which got me quite confused here it is:

can you use the word unfortunately and surprising example;

Its unfortunately surprising to know that............

because based from my study since unfortunately is an adverb it can describe an adjective which is surprising but I need to get some more feed backs.

Thanks

1. Among the most complex crystals are that of silicon dioxide, which has seven different structures at various temperatures and pressures, the most common being quartz.

key: B should be THOSE because it is reference to crystals
Question: what does being mean?

2. Animals have to cope with and control physical and chemical processes that do not necessarily act to benefit of the animal

key: D "FOR BENEFIT" Because "to act for/on behalf of (= who is representing) NOUN..."

3. By 1810 the 23 towns of Hampsphire County, Massachusetts, had reached a remarkable uniform of economic development as well as population density.

key: D "AND" might be BUT^ I think it should be C "UNIFORMITY".

Hope I am not too LATE.

Please give me some explaination and correction. Thanks a lot!
1. in my opinion the word that needs to be corrected here is being...i THINK IT SUPPOSE TO READ.... MOST COMMON ARE QUARTZ...2. to cope with and is an awkward phrase.. this must be wrong.. 3. The word BY is best paired with future perfect tense.. so instead of had reached it would br Will have reached.... this is just my opinion.. pls. comment.
