The answer is
"singly"

Please, help me correct it. What shold it be?

Whilst it is fairly obvious that singly -> single, I would have expected largest single, not the other way round as shown,

"singly" means: alone, one at a time.
I think the author here would like to express: unique, only that university ...
So "singly" = unique?
Oh, I wonder "the largest single university" may be ok. Or "the unique largest university"?

i dont think that "largest single" university wd have had made sense. what can one mean by "single" university ??

On the other hand single largest unversity emphasises on the fact that the university is the largest.

"the only largest" is wrong as in the superaltive we don't use only before compared adjective.Simply, we know it was compared to others.so, only is ommited.
