Please break these sentences.

1. Filibustering is the process by which one political party in a legislature attempts to block legislation proposed by another political party.

2. Children learn the limits of their behavior by listening carefully to their parents' requests and then ignoring those requests.

Why this sentences another is incorrect? The answer is -->other
3. A characteristic of multiple sclerosis is that the afficted person will gradually experience weakness in one side of the body, and then the process will repeat in another side.

I think-- another + singular noun but it is wrong.

General speaking
Sing.-----Another + Sing.count.noun/ Another
Plu.------Other + pl.noun/ Others
Definite
Sing------The other + Sing.count.noun /The other
Plu.------The other + pl.count.noun /The others

I have a conclution for the other group but I still need someone break my 2 sentences.

the body is supposed to have two sides only-LEFT AND RIGHT IN UR SENTENCE. so it should be "THE OTHER" in place of ANOTHER.
BTW, another=an+other and it comes when there are many things in consideration.

for e.g. one of the players lofted the ball and ANOTHER caught it.
two friends, one is a doctor, the OTHER is an engineer.
