New question

# The principal island of Manritius, located in the Southwest Indian ocean, has a central

plateau and vocalcanic mountains that rise to a height of 820 in meters.

The answer ---> d
I don't understand why - c - is correct? Anybody can explain me ? Because I think THe principal island is a singular nound so that it should be rises.

I guess is a sort of "general truth" and that's why present simple is used, but anyway D is definitely wrong - "in" should be missing

Because it's the mountains that rise and they are plural.
