I don't know how to correct these error structures. Please tell me what wrong with these errors. Thank you in advance.

Answer is 'Preceding'


2. Most aquatic animals breathe by means external respiratory organs called gills.

Answer is means external


3. The rich and vary cultural heritage of Pennsylvania can be traced to the influence of the many different ethnic groups who have settled there.

Answer is 'vary'





4. A march is highly rhythmic piece of music first used by military bands to accompany marching.


Answer is 'is highly'


5. The evaporameter measures the fast of evaporation of water in the atmosphere.

Answer is 'fast'


6. Sea turtle hatchlings sleep afloat at the surface of the water not adults tend to sleep far below the surface.

Answer is 'not'

Some additional comments that would make the answers more perfect and stylistically correct. Please follow these rules.


1. Preceding the United Stated Naval Academy was founded in 1845, sailors were trained at sea.
Answer is 'Preceding' -> Before.

Instead of were trained, it should be had been trained. And the word at sea could also mean puzzled.

2. Most aquatic animals breathe by means external respiratory organs called gills.
Answer is means external ->means of external.

Good sentence. answer is correct though a comma after the word organs is desirable.

3. The rich and vary cultural heritage of Pennsylvania can be traced to the influence of the many different ethnic groups who have settled there.
Answer is 'vary' -> varied.

It has to be had instead of have in the last part of sentence. Instead of the many different, it should be many different, no need of a definite article there.

4. A march is highly rhythmic piece of music first used by military bands to accompany marching.
Answer is 'is highly' -> a highly.

March is a highly rhythmic piece of music, first used by military bands to accompany marching.

Two points: afloat is an adverb and it means floating on something. So, no need for at there. Also, the second surface looks a little out of style.
