Uhcl,

i will try to make clear what michael already explained to you.

1.Gerund: it is the noun, formed from a verb. example: reading from read. Reading can have two meanings: the process of reading a book, and the participle form as used in this sentence: I am reading Archer these days.

ex for gerund: Early-morning running can improve your health.
ex for present participle: Running early morning can improve your health.

Get the difference?

2. Ed form. It can be the past of a verb like, plan: planned. And also it can be an adjective. Like, a planned attack. The second meaning arises from the indication that an attack was well planned. So the word planned virtually qualifies the noun attack, and thus it can be used as an adj.

I hope the meaning is clear. Ed form doesnt make a noun.

For further clarifications, just need to post me. Thanks.
