By the way, all the questions came from PP test2
Thank you!

W: At least my botany lab meeting in the greenhouse. I guess it could be worse.
Q: what does the woman imply?
2.W: The forecast said it might rain on Sunday. Do you think we should reschedule the architecture fieldtrip? I mean we will be outdoors walking around the city.
M: We'll just -------- everyone for prepared
Q: What will the man probably tell the people who plan to prepare the fieldtrip?
3.W: I have to write a lot of papers this semester and I'm thinking about getting a computer but I just donĄ¯t know if the expense is worth it.
M:Well, I just got one. And I don't know why waited so long?
Q: What does the man mean?
4.W: My history professor has just scheduled the study section this afternoon. I hope you donĄ¯t mind.
M: But we make our presentation in culture Anthropology tomorrow morning.
Q: What can be inferred about the speakers?

She hates to go to the greenhouse! Do you know what a greenhouse is? It is always warmer inside it. So, can you imagine: the temperature outside is 100 degrees and you have to to the greenhouse where is even hotter!1.M: ItĄ¯s such a beautiful day. Too bad I have got to work in computer lab afternoon.
W: At least my botany lab meeting in the greenhouse. I guess it couldn't(or could) be worse.
Q: what does the woman imply?
(a) she like to go greenhouse
(b) she don't like to go greenhouse(I am not sure)
Are you sure there was 'man' not 'woman' in the question?3 W: I have to write a lot of papers this semester and IĄ¯m thinking about getting a computer but I just donĄ¯t know if the expense is worth it.
M: Well, I just got one. And I donĄ¯t know why waited so long?

(a) he like a didferent computer.
(b) the woman can use his computer
(c) he doesn't know why the woman wants a computer
(d) he has found his computer very useful
It simply doesn't make sense...

Renata
dear rosie,
I think I have the answers ... but then again they are my personla opinion :
the first question:
1.M: ItĄ¯s such a beautiful day.
Answer :
The answer pivots around whether the word was could OR couldnt... a green house maintains a particular temperature ( an artificial environment) in which plants of a certain species could grow. Now what we dont know is whether it will be hotter or more temperate within.
If the word was could (ie. : "it could be worse")
Then the answer is : She would like to go to the greenhouse. This is most probably the correct answer (considering the fact that the woman said "Atleast" at the beginnning of her sentence, which means she prefers her situation to the man's.
If the word was "couldnt" (it couldnt be worse):
Then the answer is she doesnt like to go to the greenhouse. But this doesnt make much sense, because it makes the "Atleast" seem inappropriate, if not incongruous.
Your second question:

3 W: I have to write a lot of papers this semester and IĄ¯m thinking about getting a computer but I just donĄ¯t know if the expense is worth it.
M: Well, I just got one. And I donĄ¯t know why waited so long?
Q: What does the man mean?
(a) he like a didferent computer.
(b) the woman can use his computer
(c) he doesn't know why the woman wants a computer
(d) he has found his computer very useful
Answer : d.
The man says he dont know why he waited so long before he finally bought his comp. Meaning :he has found it so useful after his purchase...that he felt he should have bought it much earlier.
He is trying to convince his companion that the purchase will definitely be worth the investment.
Your last question :

4.W: My history professor has just scheduled the study section this afternoon. I hope you donĄ¯t mind.
M: But we make our presentation in culture Anthropology tomorrow morning.
Q:What can be inferred about the speakers?
(a) Both speaker are history majoy
(b) they have a meeting this afternoon
Answer : b
The second speaker is complaining when he is informed about the rescheduling of the former's period. This is because the 2 speakers had alotted the same time to prepare for their anthropology presentation the next day morning (which means they will have no time to prepare after today afternoon). Which inturn implies that the 2 of them had a study date this afternoon.
I think Rosie happily graduated from TestMagic. At least I hope so! She took her test a while ago.![]()
