in this question, B is the best answer.

The independent study's course is where you attend classes which not under any prescribed schedule or course structure.

I think C is correct becoz her response suggests tht at this moment she agrees with the guy.
She doesn't know yet exactly whether this will be true or not,so she replies positively that he would(not could) think so.
