    Please help me out ...Thanks!

    I do not know exactly what those underlined words mean. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

    Q1. W: Did you have enough to pay for the bicycle?
    M: Only barely.
    N: WHAT DOES THE MAN MEAN?
    (A) He barely rode the bicycle.
    (B) He didn’t have enough money.
    (C) The bicycle didn’t need to be paid for.
    (D) He paid for the bicycle.

    In addition to jose's comments in Q3 that'll be the day is an idiom used to mean something is highly unlikely to happen, another common one in UK is pigs might fly.
