i have some problem in listening comprehension .in long conversation i got 17-18out of 19 on a toefl powerprep.but my problem is in short conversastion in which i got 5-6out of 11.please tell me.

That depends on what you have the most trouble with. Take homonyms,for instance. When you listen, be careful of words which could easily be mistaken with other words, for example "flu" with "flew", "son" with "sun" etc. Intonation and stressing of particular words or expressions shouldn't be underestimated. Or the inference questions - they require an understanding of what is said in general(they trouble me the most). Sorry I can't help you much, this is just general advice.
The interesting thing is I have exactly the opposite problem. I am good at short conversations but I find long ones a challenge. How do you cope with those?

thanks for give me suggestion.i have not mistaken about words conversation.my mistake is somewhat about logical contribution.i also take aanother tests just like cambridge toefl my score in short conversation is good.but in powerprep patern my score is lie between 5-7out of11.so please tell me if you should have another idea.
in long you following these rules
-listen with whole of interest what speakers say about
-pick out the general idea about the lecture(don't stress on particular word)
-just feel like class lectures and friends grasping
-take practice more and more
my long conversation is complete in 7days but for short conversation i take a practcing for 2months.i hope you/other give me a great idea as soon as.
i have only ten days left for toefl exam.
