I strongly believe that the listening found in the practice books is generally much easier than that on the real TOEFL.

For more accurate listening, I suggest you access NPR, documentaries, etc. I've described more in my page on TOEFL Listening Comprehension at:

Hi! I absolutely agree that the NPR radio station is very good. I have been lessening to it more than 1 year. But to my opinion, the major problem of TOEFL lessening section is that with two or three phrases you have to image at once whole situation to get a right answer. While you lessening to a radio program, you have opportunity to understand a major idea of a topic because you more time for lessening. When you get a major idea of a topic it is become easy to understand a particular part of the topic or conversation.
Because of it, my question is where can I practice in understanding a sequence of very short conversations, which aren't related each other.
thanks

Hi, Igor,

Sorry for the late reply; I've been thinking about your good question for a while.

I think that the best thing for TOEFL listening is other TOEFL listening; most commercial broadcasts are designed to be easy to follow and understand; TOEFL listening questions are not. So, unfortunately, there's probably not much other practice.

By the way, check out this site, it's the site of my FAVORITE radio program, and it has LOTS of free listening with a Real player:

Erin Can u tell me whether in Toefl listening I can take my own time to answer a question ?, and after I have finished replying the earlier one listen to next question.
Or next question will come immediately especially for long conversations. Do we get time to read all the options before next question or conversation begins.
Please advice, thank you.
