Miffy_maty
I might sound crazy telling this but here it is: IF you liked the Lord of the Rings movies YOu migth take up the challenge and perhaps demanding task of READING the Books in it;s Original English version! As far As I know it a widely known English book who use a very deep old english litterature style! It can be very tedious to read for most of the words and vocabularies are not commonly used in a day-to-day converstation, scarcely used in an Academic context and sometime unknown from the Natives speakers themselves! So you may find yourself stuck completly clueless of many sentences more often than not! (For the Author J.R.R. Tolkien is a Phylogist a.k.a. Languages experts doctorate... so it even in an old style poetic fantasy litterature) But I can garantee you that your level of english reading skill will go straight upward!! Some may Think it far too challenging for a non-native But trust me I tried it and read the damned Lord of the Rings Saga Througfully 3 and an half time to Truly understand the story in all its details! and It surely worth it FOr now I can read Classic English Litterature novels with ease! And OF coruse it improve you reading and understanding skill in any "kind" of spoken english!

minud
Princeton review's book "cracking toefl CBT" helped me a lot. It doesn't have practice material but its tips and tricks are very good. You can check out the book at store and just go through it. Thats way to improve score in TOEFL test ....for overall improvement in reading you will have to regulary read the english magazines, newspapers, novels etc whatever interests you. Check out the meaning of unknown from dic. I liked norman lewis " how to read better and faster". But this will need time and patience. IMHO for toefl test PR's book will be suffice . but see what works for u best :)
