fpgeepharma
Hello, I really wonder how reading section is scored. Imagine I got 5 passages,I made like more than 10 mistakes how much score can I get out of 30. Likewise how many mistakes can I make if I get 3 passages. Can someone pass me the information. Thanks. TOEFL Corey
First of all, if you got 5 passages, you need to know that TWO of them didn't count at all towards your score (they are only for research purposes). The reading and listening scores are converted from RAW scores to SCALED scores roughly on a % basis. In other words, if there are a total of 42 points on the three regular graded passages (I say points rather than questions since the chart questions are each worth more than a single point) and you earned half of them (21), then your scaled score would be 15/30. Therefore, if you need a 21/30 scaled score, that means you have to earn 70% of the raw points.
