armie480
key sayz authentic works on european alchemy:hmm:Strictly speaking, the key is right. 'Works of the English monk Roger Bacon' are authentic and on European alchemy. But you would never re-write the sentence in this way: The earliest authentic works on European alchemy are authentic works on European alchemy of the English monk Roger Bacon. This is called tautology! The A-version sounds more natural: The earliest authentic works on European alchemy are works of the English monk Roger Bacon. It is absolutely clear on which topic these works are and especially that they are authentic (;)). I cannot say that C is wrong, but I would say it is so perfectly thorough that it lacks logic and style. :p
