Hello all,

Wanted to know the exact way in which the readng section was timed.

Read the post abt the same on the reading part of this forum, but was still unsure.

All those people who just appeared for the TOEFL pls help.

Is it first reading 20 minutes and then 2 and 3 for 40 minutes.......

Appreciate your time....

The first reading section is 20 minutes, then you have 40 minutes to finish reading 2 & 3. Of course if you get extra reading you will have additional 40 minutes to finish reading 4 & 5.

Thanks a ton for the prompt reply.

Would also like to know the level of difficulty of the reading passages.

Are the passages of difficulty level ,similar to the OG for TOEFL or are they even more harder.

Thanks again.

(To all...am sorry abt posting this thread here rather than the reading section!)

Most people seem to agree that OG for Toefl is easier then the actual test.

Sorry to bother you again......

But,could you pls explain the breakup of the time for the listening section..

Just wanted a confirmation for the listening section.

Abt speaking ... I know that it is timed for one question at a time.

Also about writing I believe the time break up is again question wise.

For listening you have 4-6 lectures each 3-5 minutes long, 2-3 conversation 3 minutes long.

For speaking each questions vary depending on the questions but the entire test is about 20 minutes.

As for writing, the integrated task is 20 minutes long and independent task is 30 minutes.

Good luck!

Hey,

Thank you so much once again for the prompt reply.

Also wanted to know whether the time restriction for the listening section is for the entire section as a whole or a per lecture criteria.

I mean is it 60 minutes or so to complete the entire listening section(listening time included)....

Or is it more like 5 minute to listen to lecture then maybe 5 minutes to answer questions based on that lecture only.

Appreciate your time and thanks a ton !!!!

The entire listening section is 60 to 90 minutes, it is 60 if you get 4 lectures and 2 conversations, 90 minutes if you get 6 lectures and 3 conversations. This include listening and answering the questions.
