I have an urgent, important question to ask.
Are we allowed to refer to the passage when we answer the questions? Or we're only allowed to read first, take notes and use the notes to answer the questions while forbidden to go back to the passage?
I'm used to read once to grasp the general idea of the passage first, then go back to search for answers. That's the basic technique I've learned for my AS level English reading section. What do you guys prefer then? Tell me which method you think is better and how does the screen looks like. Many thanks!! |

I had exactly the same question.
So far I practiced like you did; first read the passage very fast and then start answering the questions, BUT many people told me that it is better to first go to the questions and to look for the answers while reading. My test is on September 8th so I have no time to practice this method but that’s what I am going to do in the test, I think. Uh, I am quite sure that you can read the passage whenever you wish during the test, I have never heard otherwise. Goodluck |

even i had same problem and i got the answer for it here only..which am sending you here now.
dont worry. you will be able to view the script while answering questions in reading section and also in integrated writing question. The screen will be seen devided. On your left hand side, you will see the script and your right hand side you will find the questions. so now i think it is easy to score in reading part. But we have to practice a lottttt... Do model tests in Barrons or Longmann or any other books. now i think we should not worry on this reading part at all. Timing ourself is very important. Just read at once to get an idea about the topic and when the question starts go through the script again by paragraph. For some questions they mention the paragraph number as well. good luck. bye.. sana |
