noname
Hello guys and girls. Today I did the TOEFL Practice test by Kaplan. I answered correct as follows: listening: 45 of 50 correct - 24 (of 30) structure/writing: 25 of 25 correct - 21-27 (of 30) reading: 54 of 60 correct - 21 (of 30) and the score range - 190-240. http://www.ge/peter/score.JPG I was really surprised about such distribution of scores :o Wasn't I supposed to get 21-30 in the structure/writing section if I did all correct on the structure part? Where did the 24 in listening and 21 in reading section scores come from?? Aren't they supposed to be calculated (in this specific case) like this: in reading (30/60)*54 =27 (instead of 21!) or in listening (30/50)*45 =27 instead of 24)??? Well, I suppose that my scores should have been 27/30/27, which comes to 280 on the whole! Computer adaptive test doesn't apply to the Reading section, so at least there I should have received 27. Can you please explain what I am doing wrong?
noname
Is there anyone to answer me?? :o I know that some questions weigh more than the others, but could there be such a huge difference? Answer me, pleasseeeeeee, or I'll go mad :shy: Oh, by the way, the same Kaplan Tutorial said that the first few questions on the Computer Adaptive Test are most important for that section scores, because they find out the level of your knowledge and the last questions don't really matter, you just should not leave any of them blank. Is that really true? Do you guys know what is the real sense of the CAT and how the scores in CAT are calculated? Thanks.
