Question: does the score recipient (my university) get the score results electronically (e-mail, web page) - ie. IMMEDIATELY - or is it sent by traditional mail?

i took the TOEFL test on Aug 29th and the result is supposed to be out by Sep 11th. Actually I would have taken it on July 25th but ETS screwed it up when their computer system failed.
my problem is that actually my university needs my score by Sep. 16th and i can only defer it by 2 more weeks at max if so at all. when i get my online result i can print it out and hand it in but you know that they get the *official* score from ETS. if ETS had to send a letter from the US to Europe, i'm afraid this will take ages.

can you tell me anything on that matter?

Don't think that would be a problem.
Do send them the unofficial copy and call the Grad. office to explain the situation with the computer failure during your test in July, and say that the official one is pending due to this reason.

i also think that this won't be a problem. Give the unofficial copy of your toefl exam. Also I am not sure but the physical copy is sent from holland for europian countries. That means your instutition probably will get your results around 21st of september. by the way,where are you from? and which is your instutition?

Didn't you apply for score transfer to your university when you apply for TOEFL? If you you have not then you have a problem. Some of the uni. accept score only from ETS.

Now let's assume you receive score on Sep 11. There is no way you will have mailed copy by sep 16 out side USA. It is not possible inside USA also so forget about it. I am not scaring you but I really hope that your uni. accept score from you temporary. Please talk with them in advance.

just got back from vacation.
my score is 108 :-) but i only needed 80. anyway now i have to see.

i live in switzerland and my score has to be sent to Zürich. the european ETS department seems to be located in holland so maybe they'll send it from there. still, i guess it will take a week or so.

i will go to the admissions office on monday and talk to them
