renis
I read a comment from a student who took the test in 17 of december 2011 and he said that the reading section was 120 minutes long and it had 4 reading passages who were kind of scientific and hard to distinguish. Is this structure permanent or just an experiment?
zigzag.minded
I think, basically this is not permanent but I think here one of a tactics to experiment.
Tino
He is incorrect. Readings are 20 minutes each and your get 3 or 4. He may have gotten 4, but that would be 80 minutes. Tino
MAndrew
I think if you verify the actual incident, you may find that it was 1 hour and 20 minutes, perhaps miscommunicated as 120 minutes... could that be it? This seems to make more sense.
ESymposia
I think the major change that has occurred in TOEFL reading section is that the passages are not individual set. It used to be that each passage was 20minutes long with 12-14 questions each. Now these sections are placed together and you have a complete 80 sections to work through the reading section. Don't be dismayed though. If you keep the strategy that you had with the original questions, then there is no problem. However, its probably best to not float around. Remember skim, read the prompt, scan, and answer. If this was helpful please tell me. If you would like to discuss about it, please skype me.
