Hi all Hanoian TMians,
As you all may know, there are a lot of English language teaching centers in Hanoi. Unfortunately, many of them are too expensive for me to enroll. Moreover, I don't have much time to learn at one center long enough to know its real quality. You know it's impossible to recognize its quality just by its advertising broachures and employees.
So, I will be very greatful if you let me know some good centers, in terms of quality and price, for learning TOEFL in Hanoi, and your comments about these.
Thank you in advance,
Ttaann

Hi Ttannn,
Maybe your name is Tan, right?
I agreed with you, there are a number of english language centers in Hanoi such as IDP,Apollo,New Star,London,Hanoi International College,Language Link, Brishtish Council...etc, and I've never participated in these centers! But as I've known through my friend, Language Link Center is one of the best English Centers in Hanoi with very resonable fee, very good quality!
Hope this helps,
Tuong

Hi Tuong,
Thank you for your very quick reply.
You know I'm really confused and worried, I'm not so well-informed about language teaching centers in HN.
But, as I know, Language Link doesn't offer TOEFL course. What a shame!
BTW, do you know Mr MANH teaching TOEFL in HN. Many of my friends have been learning in his house. Do you think it's a good or bad?
Thank you in advance,
TTaann

Really?
LL did offered TOEFL course so far, I didn't know the status now because I've gone abroad!
I also know about Mr Manh through my friends, He is very strict teacher, even many people thought that he is very sophisticated teacher (TINH VI)!So that I think it's up to you!If you learn hard, I think it's better for you!
HTH,
Tuong
P.S. What's thy name?

Hi Tuong,It's pleased to know you
Many thanks for your advice
I think you've already known my name. BTW, the thing makes me reluctant is the books MR MANH is using such as Peterson's, Arco, etc.
Many TMians said it's harmful to use those stuff.

I have to say that this book is one of the worst (REA, Kaplan, Peterson's, and NTC are probably the four worst TOEFL books). Stay away from it--it might actually lower your TOEFL score.
I'm really confused to make the final decision.
Hope many of you can help me
Thank you all in advance,
Ttaann.

I myself don't think those TOEFL centers are very helpful (I tried some but it seems to me that they care about money more than quality: not very skillful teachers, slowly-updated materials and terrible facilities). I advise you not to waste time and money there, for studying by yourself is really the best way. The only part you should not is writing. About writing I thought in Hanoi Mr Nghiem's class is best, but since I knew TM my mind has been changed. So finally I suggest you to study on your own .

Hi Phuong
Thank a lot for your thoughtful idea.
I myself think that self-study is the best way, but you know it's sometimes quite difficult to learn without a strict teacher.
BTW, could you tell me how many hours a day we should spend on TOEFL, and if it's difficult to learn in Mr Nghiem's class.
Many thanks for you,
Ttaann.

Then go to the City Gate Building . You'll be inspired by the studying atmosphere there.

Studying much or little depends on your knowledge basement, it's merely up to you and yourself...

And about Mr N's class, if your question is "is it difficult to attend it" then I'll say "yes", but if it is "is what he teaches difficult" then he has many classes with diffirent levels, just give it a try and compare .

Many thanks for you,

Hi Phuong,

Thank you very much for your valuable information. I should be very grateful if you could let me know Mr. Nguyen's address. My writing skill is so bad...
Thanks a lot.
