Hello everyone !!! Nobody talks to me and I have the toefl exam sunday 30.06.2002.  I'm waiting for some ideas for this topics : If you could meet a famous entertainer or athlete, who would that be, and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice. The 21 century has begun . What changes do you think this new century will bring. Use examples and details to support your answer. If you could invent something new what product would you develop.Use specific details to explain why this invention is needed. I will appreciate your prompt reply !!!! Thank you |

Raghuveer thank you very much for your reply . I appreciate and your ideas as always are very good .
I also thought as a new invention about a car that works on air, but afterwards a friend told me: hey ,than what about us what would do ...so the idea is not so good ,because if the car uses air it shouldn't use oxygen . So ,I was thinking about carbon monoxid ,but how expensive this will be to be produced . I was thinking to the reverse process using carbon monoxid a car would take out oxigen ...but i do not know too much about this ...so would be wrong to give an incorrect knowledge . Another idea would be some glasses with virtual libraries that works on the satelite and would have a card .The card will be update sometime from a computer . This invention would help us a lot we wouldn't have to go to libraries and we will save lot's of money by not buying books or using internet . What do you think about the second idea ? Opinions ..... Or another idea- a crib for babies, that when you will put the baby in. he will not cry at all ,and fall asleep . the crib will emit some sounds or i don't know what have some influence to the child's brain the section of sleeping and the baby will sleep all the night .Can you imagine how many parents will be happy then, being able to sleep all the night and having enough energy for the next day . it is known that tired parents are not able to give enough attention to their children .... What about this one ? Ideas , corrections , opinions ??? Please let me know my toefl test is comingggggggg? Oh my good I'm so scared !!!! See u all ....and Raghuveer thank you very much ...!!!!!!  |

Hmm.. your idea about that virtual libraries is really good and useful in many ways. The problem is that, in this age of digital devices and gadgets for every possible application, we also tend to think in a same way. But then, with our limited knowledge, how can we be sure that whatever we think of is not already available in the market or under development in a lab in some remote corner of the world. I think that whatever we write about, we should write it in a structured and organized way. that's what the scorers look at. We should take care that what we "invent" should sound logically convincing enough. I mean it should not be like .... Quote:

your idea of virtual library is good. but I don't like your idea of crib for child.childs cry is not a disturbance to a mother.she loves the baby that's why she wakes up on hearing its cry.what if the child has any pain and if you could not hear because of your new invention? It seems that you were annoyed by a childs cry. my idea in this is that I would invent that intrument which can make all the human beings to hate war and gives love to share all the resourses of our earth peacfully. The changes the new century may give is globalisation. freedom to many people who are being suppressed. Education to the many. more focus on environment. more improvements in science. cure to dangerous diseases like cancer and aids. way to fight with the more resistant bacteria. may be more wars and destabilisation of some countries. what else?? and regarding the player 'hansy cranje'(give me if you can) I don't remember the exact spelling of his name. he was a very good cricket player.he loves cricket very much. but what tempted him for his disloyalty for his beloved game? which forces led him away from the game he was much dedicated. or charle chaplene how could he become famous. didn't he has any problem? how could he make many people laugh? did he felt it very tough? I don't get any good ideas in this topic more than this. please inform me your ideas about the topic which invetion in the last 100 years made much change in your country. I think it is RADIO it reached all the people even to remote place.less cost.but I have a doubt is it invented after 1902? advise me in this issue madhavi |

First of all thank you very much for your reply!!! About the child's cry yes it really bothered me yesterday when I was learning some neighbor's child was crying on and on ....hihihihi ...and then I came up with the " bad" invention. About the idea with Charlie Chaplin is very good , the other person I do not know and also I do not have any idea about cricket , so I would not talk about a subject that I do not know too much about it. About the changes that the 21 century will bring thank you very much for the ideas . In the meantime I came up with other ideas for this essay like : Political changes Economical changes The gasp between rich and poor Changes in the land scape( enviroment)-high temperatures, warming globalization will might create underground society Medical exploration -the way we will deal with diseases -people will have longer lives. the conception of what is war will change will be more the war of civilians against terorists. These are my new ideas about the changes this new century will bring. And about discovery ...guys I found something and it is very easy it is a discovery - discovery of a natural resource in your own country , I can talk about petrol resoursec , or gaz resources - and this kind of discovery influenced the people in my country. Opinions what do you say ???? Thank you again for your replies , were very helpful for me ,and I'm waiting for more discussions. yeah the idea about Charlie Chaplin is good, but I fear I don't have enough knowledge about his life and work to write an essay about. may be I should do some research on it before hand. I have a new idea for the person to meet. he is 'vishnusharama'.The writer of 'pancha thanthra stories'. Stories also come into the category of entertainment. I like panchathantra stories very much.Is it a good idea? In Panchathantra stories almost all the characters are animals. Its a very good collection of interesting stories .they are the earliest collection of fables which were translated into western languages.they were translated into 200 languages including 50 non-Indian languages. Is this a good idea? madhavi |
