Here are some of the vocab questions from my test this month:

more or less = fairly
ample <--opposite--> limited
staple = basic
pronounced = marked
of the essence = crucial
govern = determine
lacking = without
largely = generally
neighboring = nearby
patron = customer
confront = challenge

The best way, but the way most people don't like, is to simply find a book you like and a good dictionary.

Sit down every day for an hour or two and look up and write down every single word you don't know. After a few months of doing this, you'll have a much better vocabulary, and you will have learned all your new vocab in context.

This is precisely what I do when I want to learn a new language or build my vocabulary, even in English!!
