Dates available in Los Angeles

If anyone is still trying to get a test date, the place I sometimes proctor for has a bunch of dates available at their Los Angeles locations. This is because ETS was late to add these dates into the TOEFL computer system. They have dates available for Jan 12, 13 and 26, as well as in Feb and Mar.....

So, if you can take the test in the LA area you can register for one of these now!

(BTW, I am just providing this as help for people who have had trouble getting a test date....... there is no $ in it for me or the test center I work for--ETS pays the same if one student or 20 students come to the test!)

Cheers,

Tino

Question

Hi, thank you for your information. But could you please tell me whether there is still seats available on Jan. 13 in LA area? If so, please let me know how I can contact with the test center, because I cannot find available test dates on the ETS online system.

THank you in advance!!

Reason you won't see it online is because you have to register 1 week before the test date. If it is less then 7 days, you have to pay a late registeration fee of $40 (Another way ETS, nickel and dime you ) The number is (800) 468-6335. Good Luck!

Thanks TSEPREP, I did not know about that 7 day rule!

I can tell you that the location I work for has LA area seats open for 12, and 13 January.

Also, I checked the registration system: ETS lists locations by city, not area. But in Los Angeles there are many cities. For example: Beverly Hills is an independent city in the middle of Los Angeles. There are something like 50+ independent cities inside and around the city which is Los Angeles. That is why the news usually refers to the Los Angeles AREA. Anyway, check the names of cities in California when you register. Even if you cannot find a test center in Los Angeles, there may be a center available in the Los Angeles area!!!

Thank you all for your reply. Yesterday the computer system was dead so I cannot register through phone. About the registration policy, you have to register the test 3 full days before the test date. That's why I can see Jan.13 as a test date this Tuesday but cannot see it yesterday. If you still want to register within 3 days before the test, you have to use the phone call to register. The late registration fee is 25 dollars.

Tino, I have a question for you. Do you work at IKNEducation test center. If so, could you please give me some information about the test center environment? For example, do you provide a storage for handbads, can I go to the restroom during the break, etc. Thank you in advance.

It is better than $40, but still they are finding new ways to make money off you.

As for IKN Education, I don't know about storage space, but I believe you can use the restroom during the breaks (Isn't that what the break was all about?) Did you take a test and the test center won't let you use the restroom during the break? If so, what is the Name and location of that center. It should be avoided at all cost.
