    Dear Erin,

When they ask for "the best", does my answer have to be only one main idea? Like this:
"The best way to determine a person's success is to measure his career achievement."

Or could I answer the question in this way, with two main idea:
"To determine a person's success, you can measure it from his career achievement and the happiness in his personal life."

In my opinion, two main idea would be easier for me to develop the essay. But i'm not sure whether they gonna lessen my score?
Please kindly advice, i'm new here and really need to improve my writing skill a lot.

    Thank you very much,
    Jinn

I think you'd be safe using two ideas; after all, the prompt asks for the best way. You could say the best way would be to use two criteria.
