It is a very good book, even , I had the old publication. But usually his answers are very long for non native speakers, and hardly you would finish it in one minute. But it is worth of studying. I advise that you borrow it from your public library--they usually have the old one(1998) which doesn't cover the last 3 questions of TSE.
I also bought Jack Rose Book which includes one free CD, and I liked it . His answers are usually short and gives you a tip how to answer questions shortly. He also covers almost half of the book questions and answers in a CD with his voice. In that way you learn how to say some expressions, where pause, etc.
Both of them are good books to give you some strategies-- you learn how to start your sentence, how to say first an advantage and then switch to the disadvantage,etc.......these were my doubts before reading these books.
After you learn these strategies, then you have to concentrate on your accent, and try to be fluent. Try to record your voice and time your answers. also get some help from native speakers to correct your answers and pronunciation.
Just relax. It is the most important thing to successed.
You should also be short and concise in your answers. Do not explain yourself too much-- I made this mistake the first times, and it wasn't good. Also, for pictures try to say just one sentence for each pic and go ahead. Do not waste time, and do not try to speak all 60 seconds since you might risk to go out of time. If so, finish your sentence after the bip.
I also listend to some tapes from my phonetic course--which helps with your pronunciation.
Good Luck
