knok
Hi everyone, I crunched the number for percentile ranks from candidate who took TSE from July 1995 to June 2004. Nurses have been allowed to take IELTS since Feb 2002. Please correct me if I am wrong. I believe that the number of new test takers reduced significantly during that year. The number or candidates who retook the exam increased constantly. 1. TSE bulletin 2001-2002, see page 17, a score of 50 = 76th percentile 2.Bulletin 2002-2003, page 17, a score of 50 = 77th percentile 3. Bulletin 2003-2004, page 19, a score of 50 =78th percentile 4. Bulletin 2004-2005, page 14, a score of 50 = 83th percentile 5. TSE Bulletin 2005-2006, page 13, a score of 50 = 84th percentile Please see the attached file. I crunched the number for each year. Just for fun. :( The percentage of candidates who failed increased during 7/2000-6/2001, which increased from 76% to 82%. It jumped again in 6/2002-6/2003. It from 81% in 7/2001-6/2002to 84% in 7/2002-6/2003. Another reason for the higher number of percentage who failed the test is that the changes of the format during 2003. I was just curious. Don't take it seriously please.Percentile Ranks.doc

In my opinion, the main reason why the percentage of people, who didn’t pass the TSE well, is growing, because every year more and more people are taking this exam.:hmm: 4 years ago it wasn’t necessary to pass it anywhere, as it is right now. So, the more people try to pass, the more bad marks we have in statistic
