The Educational Testing System has made a tentative announcement that the TOEFL will be incorporating a "speaking" segment in the upcoming years. From the brief information given out it appears that the new TOEFL will resemble the IELTS with the TSE being incorporated right into it, rather than being a separate component. How this will affect pricing is unknown. It is believed that a trial run of the new TOEFL will be initiated this year and the final changes incorporated in 2004.
