Children should choose jobs that similar to their parents' jobs or not?



Children are raised by family thus likely to be affected by their parents, especially in the decision of their future career. In my opinion, following the career of the parents or choosing another way to go both give the children opportunities to develop themselves in a suitable way.

From young, people tend to use the surrounding ones as the models for their future life. If their parents are doctor and can help a lot of people, they will admire their parents and would like to help the others like what their parents are doing. If the parents are architecture or musician, children will have chance to study the art from very early. This will help to develop their talent, the dream and direct their future into that way. They will be trained the skills from very beginning. The dream will be emerged from the ones are very close and very admirable to them. Children will gain very obvious ideas about what they would like to be and to do in their future and directed by their parents will help these to go very far in their career.

But in another way, children have right to choose what is most suitable for them. It is not unusually at all if the children have skills which are quite different from those of their parents like children can be very potential to be singers or artists while their parents are doctors or engineers. Or it is also very normal if ones would like to be businessmen while their parents are professors about some natural majors. It is about the abilities and the dreams of the children which are developed during the early period of their lives. Parents can not direct their children's lives based on what they would like their children to be. If that direction is completely different from what the children dream of or totally not suitable to what the children are good at, how can they be successful, or even worse how can they believe in themselves when their lives are arranged by their parents? Thus, they should have right to decide how their lives will be and what they would like to be in the future. This will help them to be responsible and have a deep thinking about their lives.

In the nutshell, based on the ability and the dream of the children, parents should allow them to freely develop themselves in the way that is the most beneficial for their future lives.
