It has recently been announced that a a new movie theater may be built in your neighborhood. Do you support or oppose this plan? Why? Use spesific reasons and details to support your answer.



My essay:

Movie theaters are important entertainment places for every community. If a movie theater were was built in my neighborhood, it would be a very suitable decision because of these reasons (I write) below.

Firstly, all kind of theaters and cinemas are welcomed by my community because of the lack of the entertainment facilities in our neighborhood. I am living in a very distant suburb of a large city and there is not any place to go out in the evenings except a few restaurants here. A movie theater in my neighborhood is really needed for all kind of people. For people who have cars, if there is a movie theater near their home they do not need to drive to movie theaters in the city center. For people who do not have cars, they may easily walk to the theater if it is built in their neighborhood.


Beside the inhabitants of my neighborhood, a movie theater built here would also be good for their relatives who are visiting them. Especially, the quests guests who stay longer than a few nights, may like to go to the movie theater in the evenings. For instance, when I first moved to this neighborhood, one of my cousins came and stayed with me for two weeks. She was living in a city and was used to going out in the evening. She had nothing to do for many evenings, while she was staying with me, because I did not have a car to take her to the city center frequently. If there had been a movie theater near my home at that moment, she might have had a better visit.


To sum up, I would eagerly support their plans, if someone decided to build a movie center in my neighborhood. Because, I believe it would be a very good entertainment facility for both the present community of this neighborhood and their long staying quests guests.

From the essay, you show only one benefit of movie theater in neighberhood that is to entertain people. Yes, this is the major advantage of theater.....hmmm...Could you find other benefit?

I support every action that has the main purpose to improve my neighborhood's cultural activity. I consider that many people will enjoy going to a new movie theatre and benefit from its development.

Firstly, having a neighborhood movie theatre will help the development of several social and cultural activities. For example, people could engage in putting up a movie festival with specific profiles like family comedy movies, science fiction movies or dramas. I know for sure that many students, especially the ones that study at the art academy will be interested in such a festival. In addition, we could meet our friends at this new movie theatre and enjoy ourselves seeing a good movie and chatting about it.

Small dealers will benefit from the development of a new movie theatre. Usually when a big plan like this is in motion, small entrepreneurs begin to think at several ways of increasing their annual income by developing commerce activities around the movie theatre establishment.

To sum up, we could benefit from the development of a new movie theatre in several ways, economically, socially and culturally. Any disadvantage that some people might consider like parking problems, for example, are too small compared to the advantages of this plan, which the entire neighborhood will benefit from.
