    **music**

TOPIC : Music speaks about the culture of a country.Explain this with regard to the culture of your country.
    [taken from powerprep]

Music chiefly refers to songs, lyrics and instruments combined together to produce notes for pleasant listening to our mind, body and soul. The melody of music, enchanting notes and magical flow are great factors that endear us to listen to music.Music is in fact, rest to the soul and refreshes the mind.It is also an indication of the culture of the country and the traditions behind it.

The music of my country, India is an indicator of our rich tradition continued from ages. Great singers like M.S.Subbalakshmi, the doyen of Indian classical music and and Lata Mangeshkar, the great playback singer are recent examples who have enchanted and enthralled people all over with their melodious voice. Their melodious songs speak volumes of the rich Indian heritage and culture. In fact, these great musicians have always been the ambassadors of our nation that is famed for its old heritage and culture.

Great Indian maestros like Thyagaraja of the past and Pandit Ravi Shankar of the recent times have been instrumental in passing on the highly regarded classical and instrumental music.Music compositions known as Ragaas are composed in two different styles of music namely the Hindustani and Carnatic music, the former originating from the Northern part of India and the latter from the South. Musicians from India have always acted as cultural representatives of their country even abroad. This has opened up new vistas for cultural bondage with people of different nationalities and regions to spread the spirit of melody, talent and richness of art and tradition.

Indian Music speaks of a common spirit of humankind with an urge to open up to the world. This message is even conveyed in most forms of music in India. Music speaks of human emotions, feelings and thoughts in a particular rythm that completely soothes and entrances the soul. Most importantly, music in my country spreads the common feeling of secularism and unity in the country.

To sum up, music transcendents all human barriers of race, religion, caste, creed and nationality. This important message is conveyed by the culture of my country,India and it is why music stands as an important means of communication among humankind. Talent to excel, creating melody for the soul and spreading the spirit of unity and brotherhood is what is conveyed about the rich Indian culture by music throughout the world.
