Many students choose to attend schools or universities outside their home countries. Why do some students study abroad? Use specific reasons and details to explain your answer.



Education makes us complete. An educated person earns respect, love, acceptance, and admiration in the society. There are millions of people all over the world who could not get even the primary education in their entire life. Therefore, it is a great privilege for those people who could get an opportunity to attend schools or universities outside their home countries. There could be numerous reasons for taking up studies or higher studies not in there country but abroad.



First and foremost reason for studying abroad could be, because these students do not have good schools or colleges in their own country. There are many under-developed and developing countries all over the world which still do not have college which could stand at- par with the universities of developed countries like United States, France. Nobody can deny the fact that with globalization, it has become certainly important to get most recent knowledge of technology, independent of your of area of study. Therefore, to gain knowledge equivalent to these countries some students choose to study abroad.



Second reason could be because these students wish to expose themselves and know people of other countries. Exposure to people not only to your home country but also to foreign countries helps in building confidence. To be confident is the first requirement of successful career and life. For example, a friend of mine got admission in University of Virginia last year. She was an average student in her studies and wasn't at all gregarious. But when I met her this summer she was an entirely different person. One could easily see glow of confidence on her face. So I certainly believe that exposure to different environment inculcates confidence and enhances your personality.



Third reason for opting to study abroad could be for better job opportunities. Market has changed drastically over the last couple of years. With out-sourcing and globalization, it has become quite important these days to have international education. Having knowledge or work experience outside your home country increases your chances of getting well paid jobs. For example, if an MNC which has head quarters in United States is looking for suitable candidate to work for them; a candidate who has US education would certain be in companies top choices. Thus, I believe with fast changing world and globalization it has become necessary to have international education.



Therefore, in summary some students choose to study abroad because they do have quality education in their own country and some to enhance their confidence or increase their job opportunities.
