Lightbulb topic 95-governments should spend as much money as possible exploring outer space

Some people think governments should spend as much money as possible exploring outer space (for example, traveling to the Moon and to other planets). Other people disagree and think governments should spend this money for our basic needs on Earth. Which of these two opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

please rate my essay. thanks a lot.

Nowadyas it becomes a heatedly debated topic wether governments should spend money on space exploration or should spend it on basic needs on earth. I believe that it is crucial for governments to spend money on basic needs on earth. It helps to save many children's lives who are dying of starvation and poorness, it helps to solve air pollution, and it helps to improve medical science.

First of all, when we see the photographs of starving children, it is very difficult to say that we should spend billions of dollars on space exploration. Governments should spend money to save these children's lives. They can build a lot of shelters and feed a lot of hungry children. If government spend this money, we willnot hear from the radio or televiosion the news about the death of children because of poorness and starvation.

In addition, air pollution is the big problem in large cities and in industrial areas. Many studies have shown links between pollution and health. It causes serious health problems such as asthma, lung and heart disease. The widespread use of private cars is the main reason of air pollution. Govenments with spending money can improve roads and public transportation. If we have sufficient public transportation, people will use them instead of private cars, and it means less pollution. Also, Governments can spend money to plant trees and increase green spaces that help to reduce air pollution.

Furthermore, Improvement of medical science needs money. Some of people in the world suffer from incurable disease such as cancer. With spending more money, scientists can improve their reaserch and equipment of medical. It is a tragedy that there are human beings suffering from incurable disease on earth.

In conclusion, when we have a lot of problems in the world around us, it doesn't make sense to spend money on space exploration. If governments solve the basic needs on earth, they can spend money for science exploration.

you have argued the good points. I rate it as 5. It is better to make the introduction more elegant and make your examples more vivid. Anyway, it is good essay.
