What has been the hardest for you about learning the English language? Give spesific reasons….


English language is the language of the world. Some say that the popularity of English comes from its easiness. I strongly disagree with this idea. I think English is quite difficult. My native language is Turkish and I had great problems while learning English. The essential part of my problems is the grammatical structure of English.Grammar of English language is different from Turkish in two ways; the tenses are different in Turkish and we do not use "am, is , are" .

Firstly,In Turkish language we do not have so many tenses .In other words; we do not have simple present, simple past,past perfect.. and so on.Instead of these tenses, we simply use one tense for past ,one for future and one for present time. For instance In Turkish there is no different with "I have been " and "I was" .

Secondly, In Turkish we do not use "am, is, are". We just say "I" or "We".There is no need to use "am" or "are".This difference may seem little.But if you learn a new language you have to transtalate it to your native language.Imagine that I could not translate all of the sentence because there were no direct, matching words.

To sum up, learning English was quite difficult for me. My main problem was about grammar of English because there were big differences in usage of tenses.Moreover, the usage of "am, is, are" is different.Everybody say English is the language of the world.I agree with this idea.But the common usage of English does not come from its easiness.As I tried to explain below, English is quite hard in many ways.

1) I guess you could improve your essay formating (How to format your essay).
2) Are you are discussing about how easy is Turkish or how difficult is English? I guess your topic sentence should be like this: "In English, there is so many confusing tenses...." rather than "In Turkish language we do not have so many tenses ."
