camelring
"When people succeed, it is because of hard work. Luck has nothing to do with success." Do you agree or disagree with the quotation above? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your position. Hard work is one of the most important factors when one succeeds. People are hardly able to obtain any accomplishments if they don’t work hard. However, although one’s effort plays an important role in one’s success, luck is also a very crucial element. The statement that luck hasnothing to do with success is not true. In fact, we can see the influence of luck everywhere in our lives. The most obvious influence which luck may have on people is that the family where they are born is decided by luck, not by themselves. As we know, the background of family plays an important role in one’s life. Children who are born in a wealthy and well-educated family will have better living and education conditions than those who live in poor families. Also the former are easy to find a job than the latter because of the influence of their family. All of these advantages are helpful for their success. Another influence of luck on people’s success is whether they can meet the good guiders who are helpful in every stage of life. A good guider can help people in getting achievements. In school, the guiders are our teachers. We can benefit a lot from a good teacher, such as knowledge, virtue and custom. When we go to work, the guiders may be our bosses or our colleagues. We can also benefit from a good boss or colleague, like working experience and professional knowledge. Without these good guiders, people need longer time to succeed. Finally, in many cases, luck itself decides the result of matters. We can see this very clearly from a football game. It is very common that a stronger team is defeated by a weaker team in football match. Although the strong one have the capacity to win and have taken efforts, it may lose only because of bad luck. In summary, luck is also a very influential factor in one’s success just as hard work is. It not only decides our background of family and the people we meet but also decides the result of some matters directly. People can not succeed without good luck. rocky80
MY RATING = 3/6 PLZ. ALLOW ME TO WRITE IN THIS TOPIC: " success- how does one define it?.The ultimate destination reached in one`s lfe or the dreams finally turning out to be true.whatsoever be the exact defination for it, the key to success in my opinion is one -"hard work".so what -if the tides are against you, if the luck seldom favours you, if your prayers are not answered, - god help those who help themselves. success is achieved by perfection - small things lead to perfection, perfection is not a small thing. I am not aversed to the idea of ridiculing the role of luck in success ;but hard work and good luck exhibits the property of synergism, a combination of two is like swimming downstream in a river; with luck against you, its vice-versa , swimming up-stream; still by your hard work you can dominate and nullify the negative effects of your hard luck.after all, success is the ladder which cannot be climbed with your hands in your pockets! A dependence in luck will steadily drain self-confidence, and enthusiasm from one.no doubt, "the harder you work, the luckier you get", so work hard to keep your moral aloft and senses in kilter. To conclude, the vitality of hard work is palpable, luck does matter, but shares only a small fraction of the pavement made to succeed, its only hard work that counts, especially in long run.
