When people need to complain about a product or poor service, some prefer to complain in writing and others prefer to complain in person. Which way do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
In everyday life there are a lot of difficult situations people dealing with. Sometimes, the only possible solution can be to make a complaint. Usually, there are two possible ways to do that: either explicitly by having a conversation face-to-face or distantly by writing special letters. If such a choice can be made, I always prefer to complain in writing. There are three reasons why I do that. First of all, process of complaining is always considered to have a negative connotation. One should express his dissatisfaction. Majority of people don't like to participate in such conversations, since that intercourse actually can be very stressful. Neither do I. Writing a letter of complaint, I can take my time, concentrate and thoroughly describe reason of my dissatisfaction, avoiding getting nervous and expressing my feelings by direct verbal speaking. Secondly, writing a complaint sometimes is much more convenient. Last time I have bought a bag from the internet site, I figured out that it had slight defect. Fortunately, the company had a special internet page for complaints where I just filled out specific form, left the bag at nearest pickup postal point, and got a new one very soon. Otherwise, if I had bought the bag in the local store, I would have to spend my time and car petrol to go there and have a verbal conversation with a seller, trying to persuade him in defect of the product he sold to me. Apparently, writing complaint here is much faster and easier. Finally, expressing your complain on the paper is the only way to keep confidentiality. It could be very helpful when person dealing with personal things. For instance, if one figures out about the malfeasance or corruption of his coworker, he could be feeling more confident by writing complaint and signing it with alias in order to disguise his real name. Therefore, writing complaints helps to keep being anonymous. In conclusion, despite usually there is a choice of the way to make a complaint, I always prefer to write it. Writing indeed has its own advantages like lack of direct verbal communication, speed and ability to not disclose your real name. That is why in the case of complaint I do not hesitate which way to do it. |
