Freshman Contract
Hello! I have a question!
UC Irvine's Freshman Contract states that one of the provisions for us to be admitted is that "Your senior-year GPA in UC-approved courses must be at least 3.00." Now, does that mean if I got a 3.3 last semester, I can get a 2.7 this semester and still be admitted? And is this true for ALL the UCs? Just wondering! All I know for sure is that I'm not supposed to get any D's or F's.

Jess,
When do you have spring break? You must be really tired and burnt out from your study. Get out and ask your parents to take you to somewhere far away from your home. Then, please start over again. My son has the same feeling. He even got a "D" in Biology IP in his term grade but he is doing okay on his other classes, A or B. I am trying to get him back. Hopefully, he can get at least a "C" in his final grade. His last semester grade was not really good either. His GPA until last semester dropped to 3.9. He was doing the application on the week of his final exams. That GPA affects some school's admission decisions. Many top schools requires his Mid-year report. Yeah! College application process is a nightmare. His teacher said the same thing, especially doing the applications. We are still waiting for 5 schools he applied. We hope that we can get the results by next week. You are doing a lot of work to get into university. Do not let the chance fly away. Do some fun things and get back to your study again. Waiting is stressful. I understand. We went to eat out everyday this week. Today, I will take hime to see a movie and do some shopping. What is a good movie this week? Knok

Be careful with letting your high school senior year grades slip. I know 2 individuals who had their offers rescinded after letting their grades slip from 4.0 students to barely over 2.5 GPA. One was a girl from UC Irvine and the other from UCLA. Long story short, the girl was able to show UC Irvine that it was just a mistake as she had a grade changed from a professor (luckily she was able to do extra credit to do so), but the guy from UCLA was not so fortunate and had to go community college to make up the quarter and still only manage to transfer to UC Davis not UCLA, his first choice.
