Convert H1 to F1

Hi,
I have a valid H1 visa...The college laywer told me that i need to go to india to convert my visa to F1...I want to convert my H1 to F1 in India....Will i face any problem in doin that? Does anyone ever has done this in India??..I have heard that the consulate can reject thy F1 application and also cancel thy H1 visa?? Is that true ?? Please help me i m in great trouble

Your application for F1 can be denied. At that time, it is possible for them to cancel the H1B also.

Your chances are probably good to get the F1... but there is no guarantee.

Actually i had applied to US university for fall 2008...but in the mean while i got my H1 visa stamped in the month of september and deferred my admission to Fall 2009...I went to US in december ...but due to bad market condition ...i was not able to find a job and hence returned to india in Feb 2nd week so that i can atleast pursue my MS

...My prob is that i dont have any valid paystubs...I want to now pursue my MS ....wat are my chances of getting my F1 visa?? will i have a problem of paystub as i hardly stayed there
