Hi Friends!
I have my visa appointment on 10'th july 2003.Now i have a problem.Actually my brother is working in california. He did his MS from US only.If i tell the Visa officer about my brother i don't know whether this is going to work in my favor or against. My brother is working in Seibel Infosystem in california for the past one and a half year. Please give your suggestions to me.Also i don't want to lie because they ask in writing (in one of the visa application form) if any of your relative is there in U.S. I am going to Florida Institute of Technology(Fall 2003) for MS in Computer Science. Thanks |

Gupta, I had this same dilemma back in 99 when I applied for my F1. My brother was working at Motorola, Chicago at that time. I was frank with my app and mentioned about my bro. But, I also added an employment letter as proof of my ties with the home country. I got my VISA and just 2 monhs before I graduated from my MS, I got married and my husband works for Siebel systems as well(YUP, ur bro and my hubby are colleagues!!!) and so I had to give up that job in India and settle here in the US. For more info about this job letter that I am talking abt check out my other post abt F1 Visas.
