is there any hope to increase the quota for H1B visa ?

I read in some web sites that The Congress may approve an amendment to increase the cap of H1B visa to 115,000 instead of 65,000 which is the current cap ;that means there are 50,000 extra visa will be available
it was terrible for many of us that the cap for 2007 reached on May 26.
please,if any body in this great forum has any information and can share it with us ,I will really appreciate it.

Last I heard that proposal is stuck in the congress with the current immigration fight regarding illegal immigration. I guess there is no more hope for 2007.... but we will see. Hopefully it will increase for the 2008 hiring. 65,000 is really small and the US economy is good now.
